If you ordered the Play-Yan from Nintendo's Japanese online sales site last week, there may be a slight problem with it. No, it won't burst into flames or anything, don't worry. The problem with Nintendo's little multimedia plugin happens to be that the stereo outputs are switched. Namely, the left channel goes out to the right ear and the right channel goes out to the left. Which wouldn't be much of a problem if you were busy just listening to music, if you asked me. The only time this might throw you off would be if, say, you were in the middle of watching a movie (a pirated copy of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, perhaps) and a planet exploded off to your left while the explosion resounded off to your right. Dutifully, Nintendo has offered to replace your defective unit free of charge. Until then, don't panic, it's nothing that turning your headphones around backward won't fix.
