Gamespot, to coincide with the release of what will most likely be my game of the year, has a nice roundup of PS2 wheels for you to get the most from Gran
Turismo 4, as you plough around the Nurburgring in a Model T Ford, reading the easter eggs on the track. (You heard
me.)
Aesthetically, the new Driving Force Pro, designed explicitly for the game, looks fantastic. I mean look at it over
there. Gorgeous. Gamespot give it the highest mark too, so it obviously plays as good as it looks. Everyone I know who
has bought this wheel is loving it. Only wish I could afford it. The older Driving Force, from the pictures, looks
almost identical to my PC Wingman, minus the PS controls on the top, and in my experience with their PC wheels, you
can't really go wrong with a Logitech made one.
Just looking at the wheels, the Logitech ones look great, the Thrustmaster one looks like it should be in an 18
wheeler somewhere, and the Mad Catz one looks horrible. Gamespot seem to think it's bad too. So again, the looks
dictate the quality.
So sure, your PS2 may have a damn nice gamepad, but really, to get the most from GT4, if you have the environment to
do it, a wheel will make "The Drive of Your Life" that much more realistic.
Yeehaw! It'a a roundup! Of wheels!
