Gamespot has a review up of the latest Dell Inspiron XPS gaming laptop. The thing might look a little square, but
its performance is just too much for my Sunday morning brain to process. The byline of the review is, "The Inspiron XPS
Gen 2 weighs less, packs more power, and has an amazing battery life."
I see. So it has everything that XPS-watchers, like myself, have been waiting for?
The main reason for the heft problem in previous XPSs was the Pentium 4 desktop processor. The thing just isn't meant
to be carried around. But Dell is now using the 2.13 GHz Intel Pentium M processor. Any performance hit from the M
series tradeoff is made up with the GeForce Go 6800 Ultra. The new chip runs at 450MHz, and its 256MB of DDR3 memory
(running at 550MHz) just ups the bar even more.
I guess it's time pull out that extra $2749 in the sock drawer.
Dell Inspiron XPS is too good to be true
