DoA's Itagaki disses Tekken 5

We just went right ahead and skipped to the end of an otherwise boring interview:
"1UP: Speaking of your enemies, Tekken 5 just came out in North America (and we know how you
feel about Tekken), but doesn't feature any sort of online play, multi-tiered stages, or tag-team play. Do you think
they chickened out of the online arena?
Itagaki: First they put in all of these half-finished "features", then they take them right out
again. Tag fights, elevation differences, walls. I don't know if it's because they're impatient, or because they lack
the ability, but no matter the reason those guys are a pretty weird bunch. Any of those things would have become a
bonafide feature if they took the time to do it right (laughs). Oh, and come on guys, let's quit trying to hide the
prehistoric nature of the main product by tacking on some absurd "bonus game." I have been saying this for 5 years,
haven't I? If you have the time to make an action-style "bonus game", why don't you create an honest-to-god action game
and sell it as a standalone product? Oh, and if you're going to bother including such a "unique" form of ball play, you
should do a beach volleyball game instead (laughs).
Oh, that's right, I forgot something important. You guys did do a "bonafide" action game, didn't you? What was it called again? Oh yeah, NINA: Death by Degrees."

Itagaki really sounds like a fan boy. Sure DOA has some nice jiggling boobs, but I can't say I'm a huge fan. And DOA:XVB? That's rich, that was a watered down porn game for the american audience.

look who's talking... at least namco is making teken 5 as a game that is more than worth playing. tekken is definitely a more popular game compared to DoA.
DoA? lame ass button masher, with great graphics though. sure, death by degrees might not be anygood. but DoA volleyball is also plain terrible, with the shameful focus on huge breasts and bad gameplay.
what's so wrong with including a bonus game, instead of selling selling it for a full price,like they did with DoA volleyball. it is to the benefit to the fans.
this guy need to start looking in the mirror. he is talking like he is up there with the likes of shigeru miyamoto. well, he is not! if he wants to brag, at least make games that are better that the ones he insulted.

I am a HUGE fan of DOA on the PS2. I almost purchased an XBox for DOA but I'm glad I waited for the price drop. (I got my Xbox for Halo 2)
DOA and Ninja Gaiden were a HUGE disappointment. I still play the original Ninja Gaidens. Ninja Gaiden should be like Streets Of Rage in 3D not a Ninja based Tomb Raider.
Ninja Gaiden and DOA on the XBOX was a waste of Money. This idiot is talking crap cause look at DOA Ultimate REHASHED. Good thing I rented that crap before I purchased.

I don't know what you guys are talking about, Ive found far more depth to DOA than button mashers like soul caliber 2. XBV seemed way too simple at first, but it really solidified when you figured out the subtleties of the pressure sensitive buttons. And Ninja Gaiden was a gaming work of art , period. (And nothing like tombraider) The team ninja games have been the best examples of my collection and I am up to 26 xbox games now!

Er, Soul Calibur 2 is not Tekken 5. I mean, I love Soul Calibur 2 and all, but it is meant to be a masher.
Releasing the "minigames" as stand alone products sounds like profiteering, not fan service (ha, double entendre!). But, who am I kidding, "Team Ninja" has been spitting this kind of pretentious BS for years. Hey Itagaki, this isn't WWF. People will still buy your games if you don't talk shit.

The beach volleyball game was no more than a game for gamers to bust a nut too!
Depth and DOA is like oil and water. A big feature in DOA is setting the age which affected the physics on the women's breast. Oh Yeah! Sounds like Team Ninja is being run by Andrew Dice Clay.
Ninja Gaiden was a lacking game. It's Tomb Raider evolved.
26 XBox Games? Halo only has 2 games in it's series. What other garbage have you been throwing your money away on? DOA Ultimate?

I know why girls think gamers are sad. Just look at these reactions. All the mentioned games deserve their credits.The mere fact we all know them means they're good enough to know.
To all one-sided, narrow minded gamers I say: save some money, buy all platforms and enjoy them. You won't feel the urge to 'defend' your own console to justify your own purchase. If you think I'm over reacting, ... well I guess so were you just then.
Trust me -as a multi platform gamer- when I say: each one of those games has it's pro's and cons.
Doa has graphics and accessability. Smooth gameplay combined with excellent moves, combos and graphics. What else do you want?
Tekken - as virtua fighter - is a pioneer and should be treated with respect. Even by you mr. Itagaki.
Soul Calibur can be played by anyone but not in two player mode (or you should find a equally good/ bad partner), believe me, it's gameplay is deeper than grand canyon. Put an experienced player against a button basher and it's 'game over' within seconds.
Ninja Gaiden is sweet. You have to give it time and again try not to compare. Look at it as a stand alone game and you'll see the shere beauty of it.
The French say: les g? et les couleurs ne se disputent pas (in other words: it's not because I like blondes, you have to)(Take note mr. Itagaki)
as a last note, you can call me old fashioned, but nothing beats a good old two player King of fighters on ye'ol Neo Geo,... sweet ... like candy

DOA is good.. for boners but other than that I have to give it up to Tekken. Tekken is a thinking game unlike DOA which, as mentioned many times before, a masher. I'm not saying that it's a bad game but it gets old fast. This is the reason why you see Tekken in a lot of arcades compared to DOA and more tournaments because of its well-rounded gameplay.
My opinion, of course.

I think DOA is fun but it definately gets boring and Tekken 5 beats the hell out of DOA in so many ways and if this guy is complaining about the extras and stuff then he is dumb cause it added a whole new thing to tekken. Another thing the online play sucks balls anyways online cause it lags a lot and tekken 5 dont need online cause of arcades! Arcades will keep tekken strong and tournaments. Tekken 5 is awesome and compared to DOA i think Tekken 5 wins no matter what any hardcore 3D fighter says.

Ok! I´m going to put an end to this:
Dead or Alive Ultimate: First Beat´em up with online feature,nice introduction, superb graphics, good gameplay, nice story (only deep in some characters),super complete stages, great show off girls, tag team, but it´s a remake so it´s repeating the same shit...
Tekken 5: Nice graphics, good introduction, repeating same shit in gameplay, nice "getting old" feature, nice stages, no tag team.
DOAU is better in graphics, stages and has online.
Tekken 5 is Deeper.

Itagaki?? Who is this dumb shell?? Is he proud because he made that dumb, big boobs girl fighting game?? Ha!! I think you just like a pimp that promote your girls through video games!! Don't ever compare your dumb fighting boobs with TEKKEN, it just like comparing the 'heaven' (TEKKEN) with the 'hole' (DOA)!! TEKKEN is the most superb fighting game that ever created, and this game is the reason why I brought my PS2 and PS3 (in the future)!! And if you are not a chicken , why you are runing like a whore from the PlayStation to the XBOX, it's simply said that your boobs fighting game is a looser when it's got compared with TEKKEN, sucker!! Btw, your haircut, explain a lot of yourself!! I know it's really difficult to make a good quality game with that kind of hairstyle!!
