Those Irish sure know how to have fun. Wavehunt is a "high-tech treasure hunt using a moving wireless computer
network" with a grand prize of 200 euro. The game has been designed to titillate the Irish technical community. To play
the game you'll need two people, a laptop/PDA and network detection software. You'll have one hour to locate a hidden,
moving wireless access point. From the site:
Entrants must use the data & graphs from their laptop/PDA to track and positively identify the carrier - the
person carrying the wireless access point.
The customised wireless access point will be serving a small website. On this website is a question. This question,
combined with knowledge of who the carrier is, will give entrants the answer they need to win. Winners will be decided
by the fastest times to report the correct answer over two or three varying runs of the competition.
The venue for this unusual event is Dublin City Centre - Temple Bar, Stephen's Green park, and for our indoor venue,
Stephen's Green Shopping Centre!
Get to it, and good luck.
[Thanks Andrew! Again!]
