Firing Squad takes a look at the ATI RADEON X850 XT. The card stands out because of its 512MB of memory. Some
reports say you can play Doom 3 on the thing with all candy jacked to high, and maintain fast frame rates. The press
release for the card's unveiling seemed to imply that the card would be the first available to the consumer market.
Unfortunately, it looks like the card isn't actually available to the consumer market. Not yet, at least. Of course,
you can expect it to hit shelves eventually. But when?
It seems like we always have to go through this cat and mouse game with the videocard makers right after they announce
their hardware. Maybe it's part of the courting ritual, or something…
