One of the most irritating parts of online gaming is waiting for your playmates to show up for a game. How many
times have you been in City of Heroes or Half-Life 2, waiting for your buddy to show up. You know he's farting around,
and a little kick would wake him up. But to give him that kick, you need to alt-tab out of the game. Hell, sometimes
you need to leave the app completely.
IGC wants to rid us of such nonsense. From their site:
IGC or "In Game Chat" is a very simple concept: you can chat… while you're ingame. It's a chat program designed to
allow you to log onto any network where all your friends from the different games you play are at, and you can
communicate with them, just like any standard IRC network, only you can do it from within the game. This means you
don't have to tab out, log out, shut down or restart the game.
So if the lazy-ass is on ICQ, you can reach him. It's a dream come true.
The developer also promises a voice chat feature sometime soon. You can sign up for the beta on their site.
