Game On!
If you're in the Chicago area you might want
to consider a weekend outing to the Museum of Science and Industry. There's an exhibit on display that
features a playable history of video games. Yep, for just $5 you'll have access to over a 100 titles ranging from
1972's Pong to last year's smash hit, Burnout 3. Impressive…
[Thanks, Gregg]

The $5 price is a bit misleading - it's actually $5 on top of a $9 general museum admission charge ($8 if you're a Chicago resident). Free days are on Monday and Tuesday, but that's only until March 15th (after which there are no free days until June).

This arcade exhibit needs to be a traveling exhibit and come down to San Diego. Awesome! That's why I check out Arcade Auctions... for those two and half hours of free gaming before you bid on these cool standup arcades.

We've got some photos of the Game On show from when it was installed at the Barbican in London over at //openedSource:

The book that accompanies the exhibition is quite good, and can be bought in bookstores (I'm prety sure that Amazon has a copy).

one of these came to Miami when I was a kid.
I played defender & battlezone until my eyes bled. (note this was 1990)
Luke @ Dec 18th 2005 9:58PM
@ john: Yo man, you should probably get those eyes checked out.
Remember, even occassional eye bleed is not a good sign. Even in 1990...
Even though it was around that time that C and C Music Factory had us all sweating until we bled. Now that was a sensation!

One of the games at the exhibit is called Chillingham (PC). This game was developed by Bavisoft and is completely audio based. It is designed for the blind and visually impaired.
