Tipster-of-the-moment, Kamalot, brings us this latest announcement:
Final Fantasy father, Hironobu Sakaguchi, revealed that his new
studio, Mistwalker, is currently developing an RPG for the Nintendo DS. In an interview with Famitsu magazine, he
stated how he wants to make games more playable using the touch-screen capabilities of the DS.
The game is expected to be a multiplayer affair. Final Fantasy art director, Hideo
Minaba, will be handling
the art direction—Minaba recently departed Square Enix and will now be joining Mistwalker studios. Both
gentlemen have been credited with building the Final Fantasy series from virtually nothing into the RPG juggernaut it
is today. Thanks to Game Science for the
article as well as the sketch concept artwork.
[And thank you Kama!]
