European PSP delay bodes ill for Tommy and Pamela
Europe's relationship with the PSP is like watching Tommy Lee and Pamela try to reconcile. You hope it will work out
(really, you do), but you just don't get the sense that Sony/Tommy respects the continent/woman. Originally, the PSP
was going to be released in Europe and America simultaneously. At around the same time, Tommy Lee was supposed to meet
Pamela for a make-up coffee at the Wilshire Starbucks. Then we got word that Sony was delaying the handheld's launch by
a month. Of course, Tommy forgot about the date because he's a moron (see picture). Now there are signs that the
schedule may drop the PSP's big day to June. Meanwhile Pamela took home the guy who made that killer half and half, no
suds, 98 degree, double-entendre espresso.
Sony has promised they'll have enough units to cover the American market, but that may be at the expense of the
European fans. I know we predicted this a while back, and I'd like to point out that we were right — for once.
Hopefully, this is all just rumor, and our European bros and sisses can join us in a Lumines love fest by May.

Normally, I don't complain much about the site, but really. Was that picture really necessary? I almost lost my breakfast when I saw that. :shiver:

seriously, joystiq doesn't need t & a. If this site is supposed to be about the games, then let it be about games.
Whatever marketing scheme you guys have it is starting to turn off intelligent and mature gamers like myself.

Hm. Perhaps I could have posted it closer to lunch...I like your blog!
Ben Z. @ Dec 18th 2005 8:46PM
I was just having a little fun, jd. Has there been an abundance of t&a on the site recently?
Nobody @ Dec 18th 2005 8:46PM
Nobody cares about Tommy & Pam just like nobody cares about the PSP. Shallow, and concerend only with image instad of substance, Pam or PSP?
wasim @ Dec 18th 2005 8:46PM
I agree with jd - shame on you Joystiq - abundance or not, it is not necessary. You can have fun in other ways and it is the principle.
Brian @ Dec 18th 2005 8:46PM
There's no T or A in that picture.
jd @ Dec 18th 2005 8:46PM
Ben, maybe its because I'm just an old man and father now, but in my youth that would have been fine with me. I guess I'll complain next that my games are too violent ;) rather than too expensive.
I just see so much of this stuff on award shows, commercials, and other gaming sites that when a good thing comes along like this site, I start getting worried. It doesn't have the same effect on some people like it does others simply because I've been there and done that. I'm more interested in seeing the gaming goods than the artfully-marketed-target-age-group-goods.
I've noticed some pics here and there, but nothing too bad. Just didn't want this wonderful website to go down the path so many have tread. Don't get me wrong, I understand the need for content, as my blog suffers from the lack of it sometimes, but keeping the main thing - the main thing, is why I like this site.
Brian, your right no T & A in that pic, but it doesn't mean its not implied and somewhat gross.
Thanks Ben for putting together a great site like joystiq! Keep up the good work and thanks for responding to my post.

Hiya jd
Thanks for the follow-up. Totally understandable. I certainly don't think we'll ever drop so low as to become a t&a site, but with 5 very different guys writing about the things that catch their eye, you'll probably end up with some off color posts once in awhile. Hopefully, these mental burps will be forgiven. Thanks very much for reading!
