I received a phone message this evening from my local EB Games (Toronto Eatons Centre), which went as
follows:
"Hi, I'm calling regarding your recent PSP pre-order to tell you that Sony has announced that they were unable to make
enough PSP value packs, and as a result we are calling most of our pre-order customers to tell them that they can
either pre-order a Gretzky Value Pack (which comes with the same kit as a value pack, plus the Gretzky game) for 349.99
(CDN) or you can, of course, have a full refund. This shortage extends across all retailers and across North
America."
Why am I pissed? No press releases on Sony Canada, Sony USA, PlayStation official website, and nothing on Joystiq
about a shortage. I think they over sold their pre-orders, and then lied to me by blaming it on Sony. If they weren't
jerk-offs, they'd at least offer the Gretzky pack at the same price or a discount. They have lost my business forever
if this proves to be true. Help me Joystiq — get all Woodward and Bernstein on their sorry asses.
Well Ryan, the best we can do is to post this horrendous injustice and hope that someone else will understand your
pain… (By the way, do you find it offensive that EB is luring you guys with the Gretzky Value Pack? That is, are
they just assuming that all Canadians love hockey? That's not true, right?)
EB can't make good on Canadian PSP orders
