The GATE's got a thought provoking editorial up, courtesy of Tim Alamenciak, who has his own take on the ever-hot
topic: video games & violence. Here's an excerpt:
"Videogames do not make people violent. People have violent tendencies, and attempt to remedy their aggression by
taking it out in a safe world without consequence. Unfortunately, some people are unstable, and videogames are not
enough to satisfy their urges.
I will not argue the fact that videogames may play a role in pushing an unstable person over the edge. But if that
argument is used as an attack on the gaming industry, then we must regress to an Orwellian sense of society. No news,
no expression, no nothing, because certain people may be encouraged to commit violence because of it."
