please let me win the x box

Since you just added this requirement:
"Don’t forget to include the full title of the post." Do you need those that already entered to resubmit their comment so that it meets this requirement? Is a link to the post sufficient?
striegs @ Dec 18th 2005 8:46PM
Don't worry if you already entered, we're just lazy and don't like to sift through 300 pages of archived posts to find the specific one you're talking about. As long as we know what post you're referencing it's cool, and a link is perhaps better than the full title anyway.

There was an article about a building in France that allowed people to play Tetris at night using the building's lights and windows as giant pixels.
I love the idea of using skyscrapers as giant displays that are interactive for people to utilize at night. It brings gaming to a whole new level. Now, if someone could hack a city's power grid, you could use an entire city as a massive display, the results of which could be seen from space! ;-)

I think it's hilarious looking back. At the time there was a hardcore competition between the Xlink guys and Warppipe community to get the DS online. Both assuring that they were 90% there... Then there were predictions "by the end of the week". Eventually it got pushed to never as both admitted that it's impossible for them to figure it out. Good stuff eh? Just funny to me to go back and laugh at how hopeless anything not-Xbox is at online play.

Who didn't see this coming. I really hope these games don't go for $70 and this leak of info will start people complaining on this issue.

I have some feedback about comments in general on Weblogs Inc pages. I surf Joystiq, Autoblog and Engadget. After a blog post is on the second page, there is hardly a reason to add comments; no one will read it. Compare this with forum posts where any post on a topic bumps it to the top, leading even more people to comment on it and so on. You guys need to somehow build that into your sites. Maybe replace the "Most commented on" column with "Latest commented on" and give it a more prominent spot on the page. I've seen your bloggers post that reader contributions are important to the sites. Do something to show it.
Another thing I need to mention is the post email verification process is too... cumbersome. The best way to improve this is seen Major Nelsons blog for example, where human-only readable code is displayed to be entered by the user if they are legit. See bottom of page: http://www.majornelson.com/wp/?p=217
Sorry for the long post, just giving back for all the time I've been killing at work surfing these blogs.

has to be this one twas an emotional rollercoaster
btw i cant win the competition so im uk but its a good article :p

I see what you mean. I've felt for a while that the site could stand a few more articles per page, and I was thinking about petitioning the guys whose job it is to watch over that stuff to work on that. But if you really want to get anything done, persuade other people (on other WIN blogs as well) to contact the bigwigs via the links in the Resources column on the right. The more people that request the change, the more likely it is that your voice will be heard.

I'm not going to enter! Did you see the date it's drawn? It's clearly an early April Fool's Day joke!
Kamalot @ Dec 18th 2005 8:46PM
Okay, I'd like to change my mind.

Sony PSP continues to do well against the Nintendo DS
This is my favorite article. This article had some of the best, most intelligent commentary and didn't devolve into fanboy console bashing. If someone wanted to know anything about either of these systems, I would send them to this article, and associated comments, to get started.

http://retro.joystiq.com/entry/1234000783034616 - I love the retro, and I love the handhelds, so the top 10 handhelds that never made it was a good one (of course that's fairly recent history here at Joystiq though...)

My favorite one is Live from Sony’s PlayStation Portable Launch Party because I was always been a fan of Sony. I have the ps2 and ps1 and now I waiting for the new PSP :) I just can'wait. And also I hope I can win this 1 year free subscription to xbox live. I recently got the game called burnout 3 takedown I think but waiting to try online against other players :D
