In reflection, that comparison seems a bit unfair to the Gizmondo, considering that it sold a good deal more units
in its first few days in the UK than the Xbox regularly
sells in a week in Japan. Still, Pro-G is reporting that the Gizmondo has moved just 800 units since launch, a paltry
sum compared the Nintendo DS's 87,000 unshelved units in
its first two days. Admittedly, any sum seems paltry when compared to the NDS's record-breaking opening
weekend, and it's not as if anybody really had such lofty expectations for the Gizmondo in the first place. Apparently,
that star-studded launch party that Tiger threw at the Park Lane Hotel didn't serve to do much more than waste valuable
dollars (pounds, rather) that could have been better spent on a prolific advertising campaign.
Still, Pro-G seems to only be referencing units sold from the Gizmondo's flagship store, so the total sum of units
sold could be greater if you factor in sales from other outlets. Assuming that there are other outlets
carrying the Gizmondo, that is. Tell us, what's your take on the future of Tiger's latest handheld offering? Is the
