A few weeks ago it was rumoured that Fox
parent company, News Corp., was in the running to pick up Eidos. Well, the deal is done. Only Eidos are, surprisingly,
not now under the same umbrella as The Simpsons. D'OH!
Former EA president John Riccitiello searched in his pockets for loose change, and managed to pull together his
pennies and found he had $71 million laying around. Sadly, after the sale, he realised he'd spent all his change, so he
had to drink water rather than tea for the rest of the day.
The bidding war is on. Eidos may soon be owned by Elevation Partners, a company founded by the aforementioned
Riccitiello.
