Shadow the Hedgehog announced

Nope, that's not a typo. Apparently, Shadow first popped up in Sonic Adventure 2—must have missed that one—and Sega was so desperate, er, fans were so eager to see him in his very own game, that Sega couldn't resist. Sonic with guns? Hmmm… not so sure about this one. But I suppose all of you Sonic fans must be creamin' in your pants. Beware the dreaded spin-off.

this is almost as bad as you guys talking about how much it sucks that Phantom Dust wouldnt be coming here from Japan-----ON THE DAY AFTER IT CAME OUT IN THE US.

Shadow the Hedgehog is old news... in a new press release.

Why do you guys treat it as "new" news?

Didn't you hear about this before the official email?

Yes, we all knew it was coming, but today Sega made an official announcement.

I'm all fine with a Shadow game, but why oh why do they have to try and make his guns look 'real?' At least Ratchet & Clank had fantastic weapons that don't equate to anything in our real world.

With people going into a tizzy every time there is a school shooting, the last thing we need is more ammunition for people to target video games as the problem.

Sure, Sega showed off a video clip of this game at GDC, but I doubt that that was an official announcement.

Anyway, as Kamalot proved above, some people evidently missed the news of this game when it broke earlier this month.

I wouldn't say the gun looks bad because it's realistic. I'd say it looks bad because it doesn't fit in with the rest of the art we've seen. Shadow can have a gun but it ought to at least fit his color scheme. But it might just be a placeholder object that will be replaced by something better in the final game.

It looks interesting, anyway. And since Sega gets along with Nintendo (that's so weird to type) I might get to play it! Yay!

NO NO NO! This is just wrong.

"Sonic with guns" smacks of Sega trying to make the Sonic franchise "edgey", "hip", and "XTREME!!!". Ugh! Blech!

What's next -- Tails in rollerblades and a backwards baseball cap? Knuckles with a cyborg eye? Cigarette smoking Chao's?

YAAAAAAAAAY! THIS IS SWEET! I'VE SEEN THE TRAILER AND THE GUNS WORK SO WELL! i dont see whats wrong with sega putting guns in sonic. they've done it before. In sonic adventure 2, Dr.Eggman(Robotnik) aims a gun at Amy and tells sonic to give him the chaos emerald. Some people dont like sonic because its too 'CHILDISH'. I am a huge sonic fan and i say this game is UBERLY GREAT! (isnt that a good word combo)

omg i am a big sonic fan but most of all my favorite character is shadow the hedgehog right next to sonic. hes the coolist character in the sonic world. i cant wait till this game comes out i hope this game doesnt dissapoint me like sonic heroes though i want shadow to be the real shadow you know flesh and blood like sonic lol not some stupid robot i hope they make it where they find out he the original shadow not a robot

it's not really sonic...it's SHADOW.

Hey, you guys need to get over it.

I grew up playing Sonic the Hedgehog games...
and I am PERFECTLY fine with the whole guns bit.

Remember people, this is SHADOW THE HEDGEHOG...
not SONIC.

SEGA:Sonic Team is making this so that the fans can know MORE about Shadow's past...
and guns will NOT be the only thing he will be able to use!
Jeez.

Simply put:
Get over it you whiney babies, this is not a normal "Sonic the Hedgehog" title... this is a new piece, a new story... a story about a DARK character who lost the only person he cared for... back off.
