Browse the Web with your Sony PSP

If you have Wipeout Pure and you're feeling frisky today, head on over to Absurd Genius. The site has written up a
quick and easy way to set up your PSP to browse the Internet. I'm still trying to get my head around transferring
music. Then I'm moving on to watching an episode of Deadwood on the mem stick. Then I'll try this out.
The PSP is going to be filling my Outlook calendar this week. I hope the boss understands.

Now That I look at it, I'll stick with my laptop for browsing the internet wireless. Maybe for simple things like checking mail and things like that. I believe that any screen less that 640x480 it's just silly.

Its pretty nice. Conveinent for when I'm out and I don't have my laptop(doesn't *QUITE* fit into my pocket like my PSP does). My girlfriends work for example has free wireless access. I can go visit her then browse the net some. Nice indeed.

This rocks

I may have entered that comment above with my PSP but I couldn't check gmail to confirm the comment. It would be sweet if gmail worked through this browser. But for that, I think I'm going to have to wait until Sony officially releases the PSP browser.

For Gmail access on your PSP:
http://gmail.wiggster.com
It tries to autodetect if you're on a computer or a PocketPC, and it thinks your PSP is a computer. So to force it into PocketPC mode, do:
http://gmail.wiggster.com/?pocket=true
I've had success with it on my PSP. HTH.
Caveat: if you use the proxy that adds the URL bar at the top, your Gmail password passes through that server and Wiggster's server before going to Gmail, as well as anyone else who might be listening since it's not SSL. For slightly added security, the source of Pocket Gmail is available for downloading and running on your own webserver.

Apparently the PSP is not selling as well as hyped. Read this article:

Kayson @ Dec 18th 2005 8:46PM
I can't get it to work. I put in the information just like the instructions say but all I get is a screen that says Wipeout Pure-Downloads Coming Soon- Hold On!. If anybody knows what I could be doing wrong, please suggest any advice.

So now that they have figured a way to browse the internet on a PSP, how long until it is rendered useless by a virus??

Hmm, does the gmail.wiggster page still work? It seems to accept anything you type in as username and password :-/ And even if I type my username and password, it shows the same thing...nothing. Just the gmail interface, with no mails...
Musouka @ Dec 18th 2005 8:46PM
mine shows empty gmail as well...
khan @ Dec 18th 2005 8:46PM
same here, all it shows is the main page, where it shows the labels, and when i go to inbox, it say showing mail "01- of 1" [link]Next[/link]
