Fable, Halo and Project Gotham to the Xbox 360

halo 3

It's not surprising. But it's great to hear from the mouth of a bigwig. Three of the best-selling titles on Xbox will get a new life on the next-gen Big Black Box. Fable, Halo and Project Gotham have exceeded Microsoft's expectations, cementing them as staples of the comapny's game strategy. MS clearly sees the titles as franchises, and will push that idea with vigor and cash in the coming months. Microsoft Game Studios honcho Shane Kim let the Master Chief out of the bag on Xbox.com, with the general statement:

"Without giving away all the surprises we have in store, gamers that love franchises like Halo, Fable, and Project Gotham Racing can safely assume we will continue to invest in them as we move into the next generation."

Again, not surprising. But titillating.
