It's not like the video game industry has been getting great
mainstream press these days. With all the
violence in our schools being pinned on the back of our favorite hobby, every little bit counts. Does it really matter
how the rest of the world feels about us? Yeah, it does. That doesn't mean brown nosing. That just means we have to
have an argument to present every time some moron comes at you with a sweeping generalization about how awful today's
games are.
This piece on MSNBC takes a look at the upside of games that make you get up and boogy. They're a niche market at the
moment, but with some mainstream attention and a little innovation, perhaps they could help trim this obese country
down a bit.
85 kids are taking part in an at-home study where they're using Dance Dance Revolution to get some exercise. West
Virginia's public employees insurance group is conducting the study, hoping it will show the viability of exergames in
the household. Will mom and dad follow junior on the dance pad? If so, how many America's Funniest Home Videos skits
will capture that on tape?
