This is terrible. At some point, anti-trust laws may come into effect.

I shrugged when I heard this - and then followed the link. There's an important word you're missing here, Joystiq: exclusive.

EA has secured an *exclusive* license to NCAA football.

I think EA should change their slogan from "Challenge everything" to "Own everything."

This is a lot less significant to me considering that EA really made the only NCAA Football game anyway and they actually do it pretty well- I think it's quite a bit more fun than Madden.

I miss NFL 2K already.

Yeah Joystiq, this isn't a big deal unless it is EXCLUSIVE.

Every game maker has to license teams and logos.

Everyone the deal IS exclusive:
http://www.gamers.com/?run=news&news_id=4107

And if anyone cares about video football, this should be upsetting. Expect prices to go up like $5-$10/year and/or EA to charge like $40 a season to play online, even if you are on live. Expect changes to be marginal to the game at most with the game, and EA not to push hard. Even if you are a fan of EA, this should upset you. If the NCAA football were not exclusive, at least companies could challenge EA for NFL license when their exclusive license ran out.

Thanks EA. You poisoned the well with me once again. You are on my do not buy for ANY title, list.

I wouldn't buy any game from EA, but they put out Time Splitters: Future Perfect and I had been waiting for that game since it was announced.

EA bought it and I thought it was going to be crap compared to Time Splitters 2, but Future Perfect is amazing to say the least.

I am very upset with EA sports right now. NCAA Football 2006 is not being released on the Gamecube system this year and that is just wrong on so many levels.
I have become a HUGE fan of this AWESOME game and now am being FORCED to play it on a new system that I know nothing about.

Talk about being in cahoots with SONY and Microsoft for $$$$$ .....jeeez.
