Every hack they list is just a way to use the Wipeout Pure browser exploit, yet they say the Nintendo DS guys didn't submit anything because they "weren't up to the challenge."

It might be because the Nintendo DS doesn't come with an obvious exploit that a 3rd grader can figure out. Or it could be that the flourishing DS hack community just doesn't waste their time with blogs loaded with unfounded bias.

I guess here I could mention that the DS community is hacking/rewriting the firmware, eliminating the need for a passthrough, or establishing wireless connections with their PCs via easily distributable Windows XP drivers to load homebrew code.

I think both systems have worlds of potential for hacks, but I think engadget missed out on the DS activity because the guys behind are too busy with real hacks instead of "portable web browsing."

I have to whole heartedly agree with #2. I think the DS community is making great progress with things. Someone has figured out a way to load homebrew over wireless. I think the ti 85 emu is just amazing. So far the PSP only knows browser tricks. Yippee. Also #3 has to go.

Shouldn't there just be a single entry for "using wipeout pure as a web browser"?

I agree with #2, the DS community is doing very big things with their hardware, they're just not telling engadget about them.

Alright...I agree with number 2. But...I am not rooting for the DS here...I dont like the DS, the psp is much better and in my opinion. Psp was made by a computer/electronics corporation...whereas DS was made by an actual game company...therefore, the psp will have greater potential for hacking. I do agree with john though, DS is ahead of the psp so far hacking-wise...I just believe that in the long run the psp will overcome.
