Digital Illusions has licensed the rights to produce Battlefield 2 Modern Combat for the PSP to EA's Great Britain
studio. The portable version will be released in the first quarter of 2006—supposedly alongside a version for the
Xbox 360. The PS2 and Xbox versions will be released this fall.
Digital Illusions decided to outsource the game due to a lack of resources, and to cut costs. The company will be paid royalties for the first edition of Battlefield 2 on the PSP, as it owns the brand name.
