First Playstation 3 game screenshots

That first shot looks no better than Doom 3, which is coming out for Xbox.

Funny that PS3 screenshots are appearing on an MSN site.

That screenshots sucks and don't look like Next-Gen, although I like in fitst shot this guy who hold his broken hand.

I don't think they look all that great period. Look, if these companies want to get us jacked about next gen stuff, even if it's just rendered crap (not actual in game stuff), than please at least release screenshots that have a resolution higher than 500x375! At least give us 1280x720 stuff.

Sure it may look like Doom 3, but there is a lot more characters on the screen.

I'm playing through Doom 3 now for the xbox and have been disappointed that I only see 2 or 3 big baddies on the screen at once.

If Doom 3 could render 15 or 30 bad guys of the same quality running at you, I'd be impressed.

What was failed to be mentioned is at the bottom of that article it sayd for release on Xbox 360 and PC also in 2007. The way the article was written up here and on Gamesradar makes it appear as if this was an exclusive title, kind of misleading IMO.

looks like xbox2 is gonna kill sony in the graphics department once again. ah poor poor sony.

come on... how will xbox kill sony with graphics? it will be outdated by the time ps3 launches. and as people learn to harness the cell, they will get better and better. Xbox only beats sony with current gen as they were years late.

Looks crappy for 2005, if you ask me: No variety in textures, no depth. Look at those buildings: The brick texture seems to be a not bigger than 1 m2 and repeated about 300 times. All those bad guys have a similar blood smudge. The PS2 was great but had the big problem with not enough texture memory, and it looks like Sony didn't try to fix the problem with the PS3 :-(

These screenshots are very old, and are computer rendered and not from a next gen console. They are from a game called Possession by Blitz Games. The real in-game screenshots are very underwhelming, almost to a point of looking a generation old, as you can see in the following screenshots:

They don't look very good. Kinda current Xboxy, a little better though.

uh the xbox was a year late, not years, and the Powerpc based processor in the xbox 2 and next gen gpu will be able to at least be able to match the hard to program for and overhyped cell and similar graphics.

The second picture looks exactly like resident evil the movies ending picture... interesting

Man, I don't get you friggin Sony supporters. It's no hidden knowledge that the PS2 is the least reliable mass production peice of hardware to ship over a million units. Nintendo Systems work for decades after years of abuse, but both sony products fry out after a few years AT MOST. The funny thing is, instead of turning away from a peice of garbage product, you guys can't wait to get in line to buy a replacement. So essentially you teach Sony that if you build a reliable system you sell 30 million units...but if you build a peice of crap you sell 40 million! Brilliant! Oh, and by the way, I full expect most of you friggin sony robots to come clammoring with "but mines been fine since I got it...." Well, thats like jumping out of a plane everyday with four guys, and EVERY day one of the four dies...You're lucky, but 25% of the Sony market has been lied to and friggin ripped off. Oh, and how do I know all this? I'm the manager at the game store you take the crapboxes to when they don't work for advice or dishonest trade. Beyond that...Sony treats retailers like rats with a crush. Please don't let these arrogant system crappers win the console war again...

Maybe its just a game for the PS3 using the Doom 3 Engine. Still Doom 3 is way to dark for me, hope the shadows get soft instead of a straight dark line. Doom 3 Supports Shader Programs!!!! YEAH VFP!!! it means Doom 3 can turn in to anything!!! Is like ePSXe using the right plugins.

The Graphic looks cool but i think that something is missing in the pic..i hope that the graphic would be better than that later.

If you had any knowladge on PS3 then you would know that the inside of PS3 is 3 times better than xbox360 from articles ive read also. And read this about the cell processor http://www.blogginge3.com/2004/05/13/sony-and-ibm-working-on-cell-based-development-workstation/. SO thats why i dont think that these are actual screens because it even says at the top of the article it says supposedly these are PS3 which doesnt mean anything.
