When Matrix Online was first announced, we
all wondered if it would be an uplifting, memorable experience, like the first movie. Or was it going to be akin to
your best friend wrapping your car around a tree, then stealing your girlfriend, like the two sequels. (Which, in all
fairness, aren't that bad if watched without the crushing weight of hype.)
Jolt has a pretty long piece reviewing the game. They aren't glowing in their praise, but they see the title as having
a future, and in the increasingly crowded MMOG market, that's saying something.

This game really only has the whole interactive-story thing going for it for now. If they can turn use that to make the game more interesting and just flat out fun, then I think it could build up to something. I tried it out for a while and got bored pretty quick, and I love the Matrix universe, or used to at least.

I played this game through beta and to live and it hasn't changed a whole lot. I mean, i was never a fan of the "interlock" melee action. Its a refreshing game with lots of customization but the end game is PvP and with the horrible Interlock system for melee, which all battles end up going to, i don't see me staying with it, perhaps moving to a better PvP MMO.
