In an internet radio interview, a handful of invitees to the taping of MTV's Xbox 360 unveiling (airing Thursday)
discussed details of the only playable game at the event: Perfect Dark Zero. Yes, it's real. And yes, it'll be
ready—presumably at launch.
Comparisons to Counter-Strike were made, both in gameplay and visuals—but weren't the Xbox CS visuals severely lacking? And someone else threw in a "Splinter Cell-type functions" comment, which likely means the inclusion of spy-type gadgets. Reports also claimed that there would be over 22 weapons, including a gun that makes players invisible. Others discussed a "jetpack" that sounds more like a one-person flying vehicle. Also, in terms of multiplayer, respawn points will be selectable (a la Star Wars: Battlefront). And one final detail hinted at the integration of the EyeToy-like peripheral pictured in the leaked spread of the new system.
I'm sure we'll know a heck of a lot more come Thursday. Stay tuned…
