One of the unsexiest leak sources is a hardware provider. I'll take a good "inside source" any day; or even better,
a "pissed off employee." Alas, it always seems to be some chip maker that lets loose the tongue, revealing launch dates
to the world. This time around MoSys Inc, which provided memory for the GameCube, may have inadvertently made news. CEO
and CFO Mark Voll is quoted as saying, "We are excited to be a participating member of the Nintendo team once again as
Nintendo will roll out its successor game console to the GameCube in mid-2006." Oopsie. Keep talking like that, and you
won't be a participating member for long.
This is great news, if true. It means that Nintendo is on track to deliver the console when they must (i.e. around the
same time as the PS3). It does make the prospect of seeing an actual console at this year's E3 much dimmer. Still, we'd
take a mock-up if they'll give it to us. And clips of the actual gameply, too, please. That's all, though.
And details about connectivity. But that's it.
And a hint at what the controller will be like…
