tricky, as the servers are, unsurprisingly, being hammered.
Phantasy Star Online: Blue Burst is in open beta. All you have to do is download the client, snag an ID, and go play.
Amusingly, when you sign up, they have "Sonic" as a game genre.
Call in sick Friday. (Assuming you manage to get the client.) Tell them you have Blue Burst. They'll think it's a
medical condition. Or possibly a soft drink.
