HEY! I thought Tennis was Mario's game? Apparently not anymore.
Baseball is where Mario chooses to plant his flag now, and so be it. He's trading Love and Faults for Balls and
Strikes.
Don't expect a hardcore baseball sim here. Expect the usual Mario shenanigans, with the titular plumber, with all his
freak friends in tow, ready to whack balls out of the park.
The game is out in Japan on July 21st. IGN anticipates that a US release can't be far behind that.

This is a Great idea!( Sarcasm) With Nintendo forgetting that the game cube has a broadband adapter available in stores, this game will not be so enjoying to play.

Why haven't they made Mario Soccer? That's pretty obvious as it's so popular. But Baseball is huge here and in Japan so it makes sense.

I think it will be fun. Nintendo has done a good job with Mario Golf and Mario Tennis. I'd rather have Mario Basketball though.

I must say Mario & co are freaky, but that isn't exactly exclusive to Nintendo, isn't it. Take a look at those freaks in Quake, Unreal Tournament, Final Fantasy, War Craft, etc etc...
I think the bigger conclusion is that all games are freaky depending on how you look at them.
