Slew of close-up shots of the Xbox 360

VE3D has a whole herd of pics of the next Xbox. The 21 shots aren't high-rez but they are definitely comprehensive. If you've had dreams of seeing the upcoming console from a 30 degree angle underneath its memory slots, along with a sexy 111 degree angle of the wireless controller, look no further. I'm still impressed that MS actually seems to have made a genuinely sexy piece of hardware.

"A sexy piece of hardware"?
I'm sorry, but am I the only person who thinks it looks like an oversized pc, in crappy ipod-imitation white?

Yep "someone" you are the only one!
Shutup and go back to the hole you came out of!
J/K...The box looks just fine IMHO. If you watch the OurColony video, you would know this is not an "OVERSIZED" PC...if anything, it is UNDERSIZED one. They said it was 20 percent smaller than the current Xbox, so that makes it a bit more compact. I think the only design I can compare it to is the Opitplex GX270D desktop from Dell. But that has uglier colors, and is much larger. I'm not quite sure why white is now an Apple only color? Does Apple OWN white? Let's quit that crappy comparison, K? DEAL!

#3: Don't be sorry. And yes, you are the only person.

Can we stop calling electronic devices "sexy"? Please?
bittergamer @ Dec 18th 2005 8:45PM
Yes, I think it's ugly too. I don't know who they're marketing this thing to, but it isn't me and I have 2 xbox's and xblive as well as every other thing they could nickel and dime me for (8 controllers, DVD remote, 2 advanced av packs). MS is nudging me back to pc gaming. And no, the looks aren't the only reason I don't like it, the talk of $60-$70 games makes me sick and so does the multimedia bs they're putting on this thing. I want games and LIVE and that's all. I hate the look/feel of the Media Center crap ms puts out. And the last thing I want is a windows start button on my xbox remote. We'll see what sony and N can bring to the table and what the final xbox version(s?) include, but as it stands, I'm through with consoles. They can expect me to cancel my LIVE acct. unless I happen to win a 360 giveaway contest or something. Let's add this up. First xbox $300, Live $50, plus $50/year, Second xbox $150, 2 A/V packs $40 , DVD kit $30, 6 controllers $180 Let's see, about $800 last time, I must be a good customer. Oh well. Their loss.

Exidor, I totally agree. It seems pretty weird to me that people use the term 'sexy' to describe anything that they think is desirable. If you think that something is cool, well-designed, or appealing, say so. Unless, that is, you actually find this thing sexually attractive.(!?)
Bryonyrose @ Dec 18th 2005 8:45PM
I agree with bittergamer. I want a console that is solely devoted to games. What is the point of the increased memory and speed if it comes bundled with Windows to slow everything down? What happens in a year or two when a "new" version of Windows comes out? And a Windows start button on my controller? How often am I accidentally going to hit that in a crucial gaming moment? While I may still buy one, I'm definitely waiting a year or two for the price drop in both system and games.

My thoughts exactly. It looks like an Optiplex painted like a Mac. No worries, I can't afford it anyway unless it functions as an XP box as well (then I'd be all over it).
The controller seems a little jank, but I thought the same thing about the original Xbox controllers.
