The only way I can see even in the next five years that you would need to do that many floating point operations is when you're dealing with encryption and/or prime number division, which is something way beyond the scope of a video game system. There really is no way that you would be doing even half that number of floating point operations in any point of any game that would be released in this decade.

I mean xbox360 may not have any specs that the ps3 has but frankly not many care about only graphics. Not that my point is given i frankly think xbox 360 will sell easliy more then the ps3.

P.S. Tell me what system is coming out with 60 games at luanch which is the most games ever released at launch. Thats right xbox. And guess whats coming out when ps3 does. Halo 3 which will most likely be the the starwars III of the video game industry, and will sell more copies then you count, and i think will sell more copies the the overpriced ps3

I have to disagree with you 270. Sony has more developers backing them then Xbox ever did. I agree...Halo is awesome..one of my favorite games of all times..but frankly its the only game I cared for that was on Xbox proprietarily. Specs do matter..keep telling yourself they dont..but they do. As for myself..i'm an avid RPG player...something Xbox seriously lacked. I hope they fix that. I will own both for sure.

I'm not a PS2 Fanboy, but I own only a PS2 because of the games that it had.

I don't care how it looks, because quite frankly, the most attractive looking console in the world wouldn't mean anything to me if it had poor graphics and games.

I'll eventually buy a console based on an average of graphics and games for the systems, choosing the best from those fields.

PS3 KICKS ASS!!! i think that it kills ps2 by about 20 times. We thought there was no way in the world that this would catch on cause look at how many buttons the Jaguar had. Believe it or not we all loved it and made Sony the leading game system. Give it a chance before you dog it. They changed it so they could give you wireless capability without having to hook up a stupid little infra-red device. Enjoy what they are giving us, more power, more graphics, and the enjoyment of knowing that Microsoft sucks at gaming.

I do not like this controller but is everyone aware of the current lawsuit????? Sony has gotten sued for 93.7 million dollars for the old controllers dual shock analog configuration. They had to redesign the controller as part of this lawsuit. Sony is currently appealing this lawsuit in court right now but one thing remains is they have to change the design from the old configuration. Agree, this controller looks like you need to be a contorshinist (spelling) to play it..but its better then losing another 93.7 million dollars.

Well, when i saw it the first time, i also thought: WHAT! they must be joking. But after a week of looking at it, i kind of love it's outrageous design. I have looked at many pic's of both the ps3's controller and x360's controller, and i think the reason for the ps3's extended handlebars is storage for the batteries, if you look at the x360's it's got the batteries in a big compartment under it's controller (now that's ugly)(mine opinion). Also if you look at the pic's of both controller's, you will discover that the x360's controller, is screwed together like the ps2's controller, whereas the ps3's (what the hell have they done, welded it together?). Also, who says it's the final design.

I don't get why people are getting all butt hurt about the controllers, if you look back to PS1 the original controllers were changed to the analog ones in time. Just give it some time and for sure there will be new controllers and new styles, not to mention other companies making some like Mad Catz and other companies similar to that. Plus since the PS3 is being relased after the xbox360, they still have more time to enhance things and make the system even better than it already is. I will just let my friends buy the xbox360 and play it til PS3 comes out. Since when it does they will all want to play it instead. Oh yeah Kill Zone 2 will beat the living crap out of Halo 3, just gotta wait for it. And as for all those other games releases, I am just in a good hype to wait for those to come out, so amazing...
