Heavenly Sword
looks like a ps3 /women version of god of war
Mazu @ Dec 18th 2005 8:45PM
Metal Gear Solid 4 details would be sweet.
Geoff @ Dec 18th 2005 8:45PM
I would like to know more about Killzone 2, whether or not Vision Gran Turismo is Gran Turismo 5 or just a tech demo, and what Killing Day is about.
Kannon @ Dec 18th 2005 8:45PM
"Metal Gear Solid 4 details would be sweet."
Totally. I so need a trailer or i'll die.
also, try getting some info on dark sector, there's a trailer out and it looks freaking sweet!
paintist @ Dec 18th 2005 8:45PM
Clearly the Gundam Wing video was amazing as well. Also according to Gamespot they talk about MGS4 being announced. With Hideo Kojima only being an executive producer (is that true?) I'd like to see how that series is producing (considering it is arguably one of the best console games in existence). I'm with Mazu on this one, some MGS4 info (pics/story/features) would be delicious.

I wanna know whether that Killzone clip floating round is what we can expect in game.
zander106 @ Dec 18th 2005 8:45PM
I definitely need to know whether or not the Killzone 2 footage was real-time or a prerender. Same with the Vision Gran Turismo footage. I pretty much soiled myself after seeing those two clips. I mean, racing with Yosemite's El Capitan or the Grand Canyon in the background? Holy crap, Batman!
Those trailers alone have sold me on a PS3, but the pessimist in me has to wonder whether they really are too good to be true. If they're just like the Madden 2006 commercial (some kind of "artist rendering" bs), then I will have to remain highly skeptical, even if I am likely to get a PS3 anyway.
Oh, and Warhawk. See if that was prerender or real-time. That game looked incredibly sick as well. All those planes flying through the sky, 'twas incredible looking.
WebPimp @ Dec 18th 2005 8:45PM
If you want a mirror for the vids, go here:

Figure I would help out with flooding the net with packets. See you all at E3 tomorrow.

"I wanna know whether that Killzone clip floating round is what we can expect in game."
Same.
I've been studying the screen grabs and everything in the screenshots is possible in real-time (there's no new tech), but that doesn't automatically mean that the PS3 can do it, they could be using clever renders or a beefy beefy computer. I need to know!
antt @ Dec 18th 2005 8:45PM
yeah, killzone2 if that was ingame footage that is amazing.
heavenly sword and motostorm look fun as hell too.
i'm pretty much sold on those videos so far.
Digi Smalls @ Dec 18th 2005 8:45PM
All these games are heavily scripted if not pre-rendered (see Motor Storm) and as such are nothing more than demos for the show. The only clip that shows actual gameplay is Insomnia's game (untitled I think) which at very least shows lots of people in-game. Polygon power used to display lots of people in crowds or armies will do alot for atmosphere/immersiveness if not actual gameplay.
I think the most important clip of the whole show by far is the tech demo for Fight Night. All I can say is wow. I haven't played a boxing game since Genesis, but Fight Night finally bridges the gap of reality in a videogame to me. Those guys are HUMAN. Though I doubt most developers will focus so much on this aspect of the technology (unfortunately), at least I know its technically POSSIBLE to express something I recognize as HUMAN on a playstation. Who knew the Emotion Engine wasn't all hype, it was just a generation late.
diego @ Dec 18th 2005 8:45PM
Killzone 2. Motostorm.
rog27 @ Dec 18th 2005 8:45PM
well my friends the answer is:
If you want to drop to your knees and cry at sheer beauty...please click this link for fight night ps3 running on a underpowered ps3 dev kit (ps3 will be more powerful than the dev kit when it arrives next spring):

Thanks so much WebPimp!
Mathias Pettersson @ Dec 18th 2005 8:45PM
Killzone for me too. If that's real I'll get a PS3 for that game alone. But I guess it wouldn't be the first time Sony would be caught stretching the specs of an upcoming console.
LINES @ Dec 18th 2005 8:45PM
They may be stretching it. But dear lord, by HOW MUCH? It cannot be by that much, because their stretched videos for PSP were just as good looking as the actual gameplay.
stinky @ Dec 18th 2005 8:45PM
-i want info on the game with the sexiest booth babes.
-then i want info on the game with the ugliest booth babes.
-then, i want a report on the condition of the toilets. indulge my fetish.
-then tell me how you are. we need the personal angle. how did the ugly booth babes make YOU feel. Put yourself into the story, perhaps even as the story. that is the true goal of journalism.
-then killzone.
-then find the biggest dorks you can. talk with them. get all chummy. then push them into the booth babes. hopefully they will grab some titty as they fall. this memory will hopefully keep them warm during the many a-cold winter's nights in their mother's basements.
-then the getaway 3. but only if it doesn't suck. if it sucks like the last two, i want you to have a temper tantrum on the floor of e3.
please do it in that order.
i am so jealous of you.
Omar @ Dec 18th 2005 8:45PM
Where are the Xbox 360 videos? It seems that PS3 is stealing the show. I have only seen the Quake video and although it looks nice, it doesn't look quite as good as the one for Killzone.
nine @ Dec 18th 2005 8:45PM
Personaly i was mostly stunned by the tech demo of the i-toy guy useing two cups to move virtual ones. please try to find out if there will be a game useing this (sort of) "object tracking".
and more generally see that you can grab some actual gameplay images/movies. i really would like to know if i'll be playing a killzone in this (awesome) quality or not.
btw. seeing the realtime demos (unreal, fight night, nvidia and final fantasy) i wouldn't even wonder when this killzone game would look exactly like this..
LINES @ Dec 18th 2005 8:45PM
well, killing day was real-time. And that was DAMN beautiful.
Justin Nolan @ Dec 18th 2005 8:45PM
I read that the Killzone and Motorstorm videos were actually contracted to a cgi studio. Makes sense. The PS3 dev kits have only been out less then 2 months... even if ps3 is capable of those graphics, no way a game studio can whip up something real-time that looks that good so fast. Killzone is supposed to use its own engine too (so its not like they are just running unreal 3 engine).
Boomhauer @ Dec 18th 2005 8:45PM
I think the heavily scripted nature of these videos makes the games look more realistic than they normally wood in game. But still they are very solid. MS better bust out something impressive soon or they risk loosing the eye candy battle.
paintist @ Dec 18th 2005 8:45PM
I think the unreal presentation and the ducky/leaf presentation gives enough evidence to assume that the Killzone, Warhawk, Moto-thingy are all being rendered in real-time. Meaning, YES, they were in-game demos.
kevin @ Dec 18th 2005 8:45PM
wheres the eye-toy-water-cup demo video?
Digi Smalls @ Dec 18th 2005 8:45PM
the unreal and ducks and leaves in no way prove that Motor Storm or KillZone were in-game. hardly. the amount of geometry and effects are no where close. proof is simply that they DIDN'T pan around in those games.
stiill @ Dec 18th 2005 8:45PM
Fight Night is the only real-time footage from that list.
mcloki @ Dec 18th 2005 8:45PM
I really want to see the Epic demo. That's the engine that will get the most play at the beginning of this console.
Clint @ Dec 18th 2005 8:45PM
KILLZONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
IS THE PREVIEW REAL GAMEPLAY OR JUST CG BS?
Dazibao @ Dec 18th 2005 8:45PM
I can't tell about the other games, but I know for SURE that the heavenly sword trailer was actual in-game footage ;-)
Ben @ Dec 18th 2005 8:45PM
I just wet my pants in joy. Especially after watching the kill zone 2 trailer-thingy.
tofu @ Dec 18th 2005 8:45PM
Ah!!! Sony LIES!!!! Beautiful LIES!!! But LIES none the less!!!! I think they are pulling a "we're better than dreamcast- but you gotta wait 6 months!" personally.
pishi @ Dec 18th 2005 8:45PM
am i the only one who saw the killzone 2 trailer. man i hope its legit. it would be fabulous if you guys had mor coverage on that game
Perry @ Dec 18th 2005 8:45PM
Killzone
It looks to me like it could be the same engine as the orginal game but with a bit better scripting and way better graphics (models, textures, particles).
Guerilla made their own engine for rev one - how do we know how scalable it is?
Pureshooter @ Dec 18th 2005 8:45PM
killzone is confirmed by the developer to be a cg rendering of what they hope to accomplish.
qbert @ Dec 18th 2005 8:45PM
im sure you dont have much more on killzone that hasnt already been seen but if you do by all means
Brad @ Dec 18th 2005 8:45PM
It would be nice to show some screenshots of Dirty Harry and Scarface games coming out for PS3
Dont Flame on Me!!!! @ Dec 18th 2005 8:45PM
