I just realized something: There there is a stage light in the picture, probably to make the presenter look better for the presentation. There is a reddish orange glow in the picture: on the display, causing a shadow behind the display, and causing a reddish orange glow to appear on the face and clothing of the presenter.

Come on RevPatentLeaker...you can do better.

ooooo! Interesting. You know, I have to agree with "hi" on that one. The pic looks totally authentic man! hmm, though i do see what RevPatentLeaker may be hinting at where he says:

I can see what RevPatentLeaker might be hinting at. If you look at the edge of the guy's face, (and by the way this guy looks just like some guy that works for nintendo..go to revolutionreport see this pic http://media.revolutionreport.com/image/20040512_e3_nintendo02.jpg), then you will notice that "the words of contradiction* that are in focus at the fake* one's silouette* "...which means the words nearest to the guy's face are all sharply in focus. Hmm, but then again the guy is in focus. Someone else said the camera looks like it was rotating clockwise or something for this shot. I dont know what speed setting was used so I have no idea where the distortion of light would start and grow progressively more. Its just odd how that guy seems to be really in focus and there is a halo of focus around him...blah..still looks real to me! HAHA

But you know what! That pic is disappointing : - (. I mean if that's the revolution controller then I might as well go buy an XBOX! geeeze! looks ugly the shape..almost looks like they went back in time or something from what i can barely make out. The Nintendo Gamecube controller is undoubtly the BEST next gen controller out there. It fits in my hand perfectly and the button layouts are so ergonomic. I mean...seriously, Even gamespot said that the XBOX 360 controllers were based more off the Gamecube controllers this time around...thats how good the design was!

Now if that's the Revo controller..psshh then i would agree with RevPatentLeaker..I really wish that isn't the controller and that isn't the interface. Its so jumpy it has a sorta..gimmicky feel to it and why would the controller be conveniently blocked up by that symbol?? hmm.

Anyway before i go on and on, just want to decipher more of the mysterious one's comments. I gave up on the whole "six are await..four are aware" stuff HAH! can't figure that out at all! He says something about "the slight of hand befallen you". This is not the first time he used the words falling..and i just saw an article that just came out about a PhysX or something PPU for the PS3 that uses all its processing power to simulate gravity and fluids and all that stuff..hmm.

"The chromatography is wrong" and he says about red, grey and white. Now this seems to point to the Original NES or maybe Famitsu colors..and "the fonts that plague the issues of power will show it". If i recall correctly, nintendo has magazine called NINTENDO POWER and they had recently changed the overal look. hmm..interesting maybe he's trying to say the interface fonts are wrong from what he knows??

The best parts are towards the end HAH. He says "our minds are set*..the left* and the right* and the 12 configurations* have become one... ". I think Regis-Fills..or whatever kept saying some shit about our Right Brain this and that..and Left Brain this and that. once more 12 configurations becoming one...hmm controller stuff. 3 axis in gyroscopic motion..multiplied by 4 aware...is 12. dont know. He goes on about the controller that it feels, moves, adjusts, forgets. I've heard about gyroscopes used to oppose motion if you set two of them to rotate in opposing directions or something like that...hmm. So if you push on it will move against you, if you touch it (feel) it will sense you. Maybe a pulse rate thing like on those watches or in gyms and maybe temperature?? Most interesting is the FORGET part. Why would it forget?? unless he's refering to the Flash memory because he said "lightening" (spelt incorrectly) which basically Flashes..flashes of lightning.. hmm

at last he says "...One* is the game twenty* times of Eight*..." Hah! take out the words in between and you're left with 128..Mario 128 perhaps?? then he concludes and says Iwata (the creator) will lean into the darkness with his finger..maybe he's describing how they will reveal it..pull a cover off or turn off the lights and turn on the system so the blue light glows in the darknesss and everyone just starts screaming! HAHAH???? SWEET! And what does "and then it will move the third* step...
" mean? does he mean it has reached a finally step in the production process?? prototype 3? ..Blah blah no more my brain hurts

post 854 talks about the wording around the guys head being in focus where as the rest is out of focus. this is OBVIOUSLY because the camera is facing towards the right and therefore (if you think about it) the right of the slideshow is furthest away from the camera.
now if you look at the picture again you will notice that most of the left hand side of the text is in focus, and as you move to the right, the text moves further out of focus.
this is no "Photoshop"/whatever trickery. the different focuses are NATURAL, and therefore REAL because the closer you are to something the more in focus it, is and the further away you are, then the more out of focus it is.

I guess you all have seen the pictures at seroiusgamer007s blog by now...here's my thoughts about it:
Probably fake. If you look closely you can see that the controllers have been mirrored in an imaging program (the lights and shadows of the controller is mirrored), and since they're all in blue-blackandwhite or red-blackandwhite and so on the same program was used to color the controllers to different colors. Second, Nintendo said the controller will be easy to use and very friendly to attract non-gamers, and this is NOT what I call friendly. Looks like a gamecube meets xbox controller. Probably fake.
Looks very hard to handle too if you ask me...

FEEZY- you are an idiot! yes Revolution is the "codename" of nintendo's next home console system, but even though nintendo have said that it is indeed the codename - the EXACT SAME THING was said about the DS and look what happened there....
think about it - if nintendo were planning on scrapping the Revolution name, then why does it have its own LOGO and appear on all of the Revolution screens released by nintendo so far.

The people at RevolutionReport had some interestig things to say about the picture:

1: The screen appears to be matched up perfectly with the outside of the thing it is projected on, without sending light behind it.

-I think this is possible if they just alligned it properly, but I think there's a better reason:


2: The black levels inside the projected image appear to be below the black levels of where it is not being projected.

-Although I think this is the best evidence for it being fake, I have a new theory though: The projector is projecting a verticly longer projection than the actual image from the NR is, so it fills in gray at the top and bottom, making it appear to be the background, but it is actually part of the projection.
If you look closely on the right side, there is a black separation between the projection, and the gray thing(box?) to the right. Part of the light from the stage light is hitting the bottom of the thing the image is projected on, making it orange just below gray part of the projected image(if you look closely you can see it at the top a little bit too).

The image is definitely real, and there is nothing that doesn't fit. Is RevPatentLeaker trying to hide somthing?

The latest reports I'm seeing are better than what it looked like from the images;

-the remote is basicly like the traditional controller, set up for use by one hand(I havn't seen anything about it, but the big "A" (...button?) on the "remote" looks like it does something...like be touch sensitive or something.

The thing connected to it senses motion and tilt(both in all 3 dimensions), which is how they get the 3D mouse effect. I can't wait to see what they can do with this.

The two parts connect together for a more traditional controller.


The first picture I saw was of basicly a remote...and I was thinking like...I already have one of those...I use it for my TV...but the reports that are coming in make me think that Nintendo really knows what they're doing, and this is going to be FREAKING AWESOME!

Man, Im dissapointed.

I wouldve been fine with a normal controller, but this is just a boxey remote control, that you have to move around... I dont want a freakin work-out when Im playing my games, I would rather just keep my hands where i want them when I play, instead of shaking them around everywhere to be "immersed" in the game.

What happened to the gyroscope controller and all that other cool speculation? Nintendo just hyped this up to be more than it is...


AND by the way, this is technology that isnt even new, we had these games 10 years ago playing duck hunter on super nintendo, why does nintendo have to bring that back now?

They shouldve stuck with a conventional controller.

OK, there's a lot of heat about how 'stupid' this 'remote' looks...

Except, it's funny how people judge a controller by its appearance instea dof its functionality.

Look at it. You turn it sideways, and you have a basic NES controller.

Iwata sad there would be more optional components.. hopefully, such as, an NES remote, or an SNES remote.

I also sincerely hope they will have an adapter that allows you to plug in all the old controllers to play with the exact original feel as we used to.


But onward to my take on gyroscopic control.

I love this idea. It's been commented that it feels better than a mouse, to move around. "I'm gonna get tired waving my hand in the air, which means it will suck balls".... um, nobody uses a controller over a long period of time holding it in the air. EVERYONE, atleast majority, rest their elbows on arm rests, or their arms on their legs. That's also been a testimony of people who have used it.. once they settle down and start adjusting, they figure out how to use it properly.

"That looks gay, it's gonna fail"... since when did looks count for anything? Go buy your crappy XBox and games just to be able to sit on your floor and stare at the console in awe.. and wonder what it does. Looks, again, mean crap diddly.

People used to complain about the thumbstick for weeks when it first came out.. how much more precise the user had to be, because of it's sensitivity.. now nobody can live without it.

For FPSs, this is exactly what I was dreaming.. except designed better. I had invisioned a full controller that's gryoscopic, except Nintendo did better, cutting it in half, leaving one hand to do the movement, and the other unaffected. This is a big relief, actually, for a less-cumbersom interface.

I except several different setups to be available, since these parts appear to be plugging into eachother.. such as dual sticks with gryos. Episode 1 Racer, for example. There was a cheat to use two thumb sticks on the original.. now perhaps, we can just use two of those thumb sticks normally.

I'm not scared of this design.. and I can imagine the awesome capabilities.

Listen to the critics that have testified on various news sites. They all were 'sceptical' and 'laughable' at the looks, but once sitting down to play.. various games and up until Metroid, they were all very satisfied with the natural feel of it.

This IS a gryoscopic controller... did you read very much?

The NES gun was simply an aiming tool, you had to point at the screen. It only worked when you fired the trigger, whereupon it cleared the screen excet for a white box you were supposed to hit.

With that NES gun, you could not have moved your point of view around like you can now.

This is totally different... and, once again, thinking inside the box instead of reading about what it is.

joe man - the controller IS gyro sensitive! all the movements that you make in 3d space (up, down, left, right, backwards, forwards, etc) will be tracked which means that in a First Person Shooter game, instead of using an analogue stick to aim at a target, you can just POINT at the target - an BAM! u got a highly responsive, highly accurate aimer (all these facts are on basically EVERY site that has tested the controller) most (if not ALL) of these sites that have tested the controller say that it is better than the mouse and keyboard layout for FPS games because it is so accurate, and that it could be used for RTS games as well- just think of the possibilities man!
