Nintendo @ E3: Hands on with the Game Boy Micro

The micro looks pretty cool. I just got a DS. Later when the PSP came out, i got that because it was even cooler. But having a micro will be awesome....especially if it comes with the mp3 stuff. Plus, its cool how you can easily slip it into your pocket and that is a great benefit for road trips and vacations.

i heard the price range was around 99 or lower. it also has the l and r buttons on the top so don't worry. try searching for it on walmart.com because it shows pictures of it comparing to the size of a playing card. looks pretty small. might get one and sell my gba and gba sp.

I don't care what the rest of you people say about the upcoming Gameboy Advanced handheld, The Gameboy Micro. I know it's gonna be awesome. Compared to the other Gameboy Advanced handhelds, this new, tiny, and compact Gameboy Advanced model is really gonna stand out beyond it's preceding models.

This new Gameboy will come with the option of switching faceplates and buying new ones two change around whenever you feel like your Gameboy needs a bit of a new look to it. It will also be smaller and more lightweight than any Nintendo handheld on the market. It will comfortably fit almost everywhere, including the pocket of your tightest pair of jeans.

Seriously though, the Gameboy Advanced was way to big and it had no light for the screen. The Gameboy Advanced SP was still a bit bulkier than I had expected it to be. The SP was uncomfortable to fit into jeans pockets and too heavy to store in other pockets and jacket compartments.

Therefore, with this new addition to the Gameboy Advanced line, buyers will find this to be the most appealing of all it's predecessors. It's trendy, tiny, and lightweight features will make this Gameboy Advanced the most popular on the market for the time being. This new addition to the Nintendo line of Gameboy Advanced models is going to be more stylish and have better features than any Gameboy Advanced made before it.

All they did was change the case and shrink the screen. Your gonna have all the same games and everything most likely and the thing is so small your ganna strain you eyes trying to play it. And then you know for sure nintendo will come out with the light and the magnifying glass for it. and by the time you put that on it it will just be as big as the Nintendo SP which is a big screen and backlight but still physically small. I still think Nintendo should just stop making stuff. They are not even a competetor with there Revolution against the E3 or anything so its pretty stupid they keep trying. That is my comment and they should just stop trying to compete againt Sony and Microsoft. Oh and also with the PSP out id much rather spend a little more and get something that can play against others wiresly and much cooler games. and that is thinner and lighter that most of nintendos crap. That is my comment and sorry its so long but i just really had to say it. E3 RULES

I want a blue one matches my style and im gonna buy the Play-Yan gonna make it look like a Ipod. Put Play-Yan listen to music put headphones and YEAH BABY!(it has the size of an Ipod)

the micro looks awasome its not TOO small you dont have to get it. Nintendo jest wants to have more choice. im getting one for school so it can fit in my tight jean pocket. Also i hear that the play-yan is coming out and then i can listen to music on my Gameboy micro.

Ok, so I've read a bunch of all your comments and just to put some comfort on how much the GBM is gonna cost is gonna be $99.99. The black and silver ones are gonna be issued first in America but supposedly its gonna come with 3 different color face plates. I still havent found out if there is gonna be a play-yan bundle yet, but I'll keep cking about that one.

I bought the micro today and it is pretty nice, however the screen is just too small for me. I'm not sure but there seems to be a slight washed out graininess and I do mean only slight. I wonder if the resolution is the same as the SP. Also my hands feel cramped and going for the shoulder buttons requires you to really wrap your fingers around in order to get to them rather than have them accessable on the corners. Perhaps I would get used to it in time.
For now I'm going to take the micro back and stick with my SP. After playing on the micro and squinting it feels great to see the screen of the SP. It seems really huge compared to the micro.
The micro is pretty impressive and has nice backlighting but I think the SP is really small enough so I really can't see this being that successful of a product with this price point.

This is a useless peice of cr@p for 100$. Do you hear me right, 100$? the screen is the size of your thumb! Nintendo's 20th anniversary gameboy, and its so crappy that the first gameboy would woop its @$$ anyday.

That is sad. Ownage. PSP just whooped micros ass and all Micro can say is ' my screen is as big as a thumb, isn't it so cool? Buy me, Buy me, im useless crap!!!! Im prettyful!!!

you are so wrong Gamestation, it is so much cooler than you think, i know that it is cooler than you. i would not be surprised if they released a second PSP that had a built in MP3 player and could play XBOX and GAMECUBE games and you rejected it because the screen was so small. The Game Boy MIcro is better than that piece of f***ing crap

Well I'm a proud owner of the silver Micro with the black faceplate. It looks a lot like my iPod Nano. It's just a little bigger than my Siemens cell phone. All three devices are so small, you can't even tell I've got them on me. And yet, I've almost completed Metroid: Zero Mission on the Micro. So far, the longest I've played it non stop was just over 3 hours. (I know, should have taken a break anyway but Metroid if fun.) I can honestly say, not once did my hands, eyes, back or even neck hurt. I also FORGOT how small the screen is. This is simply the BEST screen on ANY portable. And, believe it or not, it's brighter than even the PSP's screen!
