E3 Xbox 360 Faceplate

The New Zealand Herald is reporting that limited edition faceplates for the yet-to-be-released Xbox 360 are being auctioned on eBay. At least one such auction is closing in a matter of minutes. The bidding began at 1 cent and has climbed to a staggering $242.50 (plus $5.00 in shipping)—three minutes to go. The E3 '05 tagged plate somehow wound-up in Phoenix, AZ. Go figure.

UPDATE: Sold! Congrats, "alucards_soul". You just paid $271.60 for a (useless) piece of plastic.

You act this is the first (useless) item ever sold for hundreds on eBay. Whats his name said it would be a collector's item, so I guess now it is.

The highest bidder will probably put the faceplate on a cardboard box and sell it for $1500 two days before the 360 comes on the market and claim it's a real 360. This IS eBay, after all, home and haven for all scammers and con artists.

At the first comment, I've seen much worst auctions. A guy was selling an iBook G4 box and some retard thought it was an iBook. The auction went to 800$ for a box. And it was clearly labeled as a box. So a box is much more useless than a faceplate for a game console and made more money.
