Should Nintendo consider ditching their hardware business and going after software only? According to
Bleepblog, they should:
"Perhaps this is a route Nintendo need to evaluate: they insist on further diluting their market presence with yet another device platform to develop for, market and support, meanwhile Sony and Microsoft have kept their own product lines relatively manageable."
Whether you agree or disagree, and though the idea's been put forth before, it's nice to see some more critical analysis of the big three announcements now that the E3 confetti's been swept up and the party balloons have lost their loft.
Update: We were just forwarded a piece of research from Forrester on the Revolution. A quote:
But in the coming battle with Sony and Microsoft for next-generation game consoles, Nintendo needs to coolly evaluate where its future lies — even if that means getting out of the home console hardware business to focus on game titles and experiences.
