So, you want to make a Halo movie?

Microsoft, understandably, don't want to half-ass the Halo movie. It seems some studios have already balked at their supposedly excessive demands. What do they want? A ten million advance against 15% of the gross. They also want at least a 75 million dollar budget according to some reports. Given the budgets of movies these days, that doesn't seem entirely unreasonable. The Halo universe is a compelling enough setting that the movie could do well on it's own merits.

The script was written by Alex Garland, who wrote the great low budget horror movie 28 Days Later. He got a million for his Halo script. Hey! Microsoft! I'd have done it for half that!
