World Series of Poker license

I refuse to categorize Poker as a sport. I absolutely refuse. I don't care if it is on ESPN. If folk arepoker hand going to argue about auto racing being a sport, and believe me, they do, then to hell with Poker. Sport requires physical endeavour. Lifting chips and cards isn't enough. Don't get me wrong. The poker bug has bitten me hard in a recent months. I've even started reading our sister poker site regularly. It still ain't a sport, though.

Regardless of semantics, Activision want to get you hooked on the World Series of Poker. They've gotten the license for pretty much every platform known to mankind, and probably a few that aren't.

As a note for trivia fans, care to guess where the leading research into artificial intelligence in poker is carried out? Why, it's at the University of Alberta. Maybe Activision could hook up with these guys, really raise the stakes (pun intended) for video game poker. Albeit Poki Poker has beaten them to it.
