I'm not going to get a 360, but this is pretty slick I think. But i'm curious to actually what extent this will actually be fun or worth doing.

it s prolly more like a web portal where the psp or the ds can connect to the 360 and get a connection to the outside world to play other psp s or ds s (^_^)

Ah, I don't think this is too big of a deal. It'll be taking advantage of it's wireless, which really, isn't that surprising. Honestly, I just don't "feel" this is going to be that big of a deal.

Isn't this persuading people to go buy the competitor's products?

No, this is persuading people to still use your software for a piece of hardware you have no intentions of entering. One of the few things (especially coming from MS) that I think will cause 'win' situations all around.

Microsoft doesn't compete in the handeld market and they have no plan to either.

Actually it is telling people that if they have handhelds and if they want to get the most out of the stuff we make for them, buy our console. Sort of the same thing that Nintendo started with the GBA/GC connection and what both Nintendo and Sony are doing with the next generation.

Its not really a big selling feature but it doesn't really hurt them in any way.

It IS a win for MS because, like Morgon said, they (as of yet) have no plans entering the handheld market, thereby giving them the disadvantage in this aspect because the PS3 and Rev will both use handhelds. I'm just surprised that Nintendo and Sony would allow such a thing. Legal action, anyone?

OK, maybe I should have refreshed the page.
Morgon beat me to it in a much more concise way.

I'm not sure how it would cause legal action.. It certainly depends on -how- it's being implemented, of course.

I think it's a double-edged sword at best. First you've got James' speculation that it may be possible for MS to publish DS titles (odd, but possible) - positive for Nintendo.

Then, if these games use the Xbox Live network... well, that's where things get tricky. The DS' Gamespy connection is already free for the user, which means that Nintendo is paying for bandwidth. It's either no skin off of N's back to not have that traffic on their network, or it's a Big Deal of not having those connection numbers there for GS to continue network services in future products. Tough call without actually knowing how these types of deals work.

Then you could play the role of the conspiracy theorist and say that this is MS' first move to strongarm the purchase of the other two game companies. How much convergence and compatibility is needed until you might as well be the same entity? Crazy stuff, that.

Microsoft dont have their own handheld, but they do have a kind of nephew, so to speak. They're behind the gizmondo, a nifty little device that seems like it'll pack a punch!

For me, a lot of single player games just don't cut it. There’s something missing...What could it be? OTHER PEOPLE? Interaction with other people, you can't simulate a conversation with someone.

Microsoft has already established themselves in the online arena. LIVE is great.

wutang that is either complete bullshit or illigal merchandise... lol, best bet on mem sticks is to watch the psp sites (psp411, psp-vault, etc), when theres a good deal on mem sticks... they usually post about it, I just got a 1gig for 75bucks off amazon because they posted about it

and about the video, I prefer pspvideo9, freeware, and very easy to use, google it if it isnt www.pspvideo9.com , but I think it is, good luck...

and as for this article... it all depends if its functionality is better than psps functionality with ps3... which is either gonna be hit or miss.... I'm rootin for sony, but do they have one shitty double-face... sonic stage is one of the WORSE CREATIONS OF SOFTWARE KNOWN TO MAN!, it is quite literally... a peice of useless shit that will not only not move you foward,,, but also push you backward as far as progress...why root for sony? because again, MY experience with my ps2s has been ALOT better than my xboxs,,, I am on my 3rd xbox because they always have crap wrong with them... first time the power supply was cutting out off and on, 2nd was the dvd drive, (not to mention you have to buy a fucking 30 dollar remote to add a feature that already exist on it...), and this one has a flakey hard drive... while both ps2s which were bought launch week still work perfectly... that is nonsense... so I'm gonna trust sony for now...

Converting video to use on your PSP isn't tough at all WuTang. The software mentioned above makes it a snap to do.

Okay, this has been floating around for ages, YES THE DS AND PSP CAN CONNECT TO THE X360'S WIRELESS ROUTER, NO YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PLAY GAMES.

The 'Playing Microsoft games' part was added earlyer on.
