PS3 going underground in Europe
"I feel proud that E3 went well… I feel very happy about
that, but I told the troops: OK now we go underground. The PS3 goes underground until it comes out next year." That's
what David Reeves, SCEE Chief, had to say when questioned about the PS3's E3 debut in a recent interview. However,
Reeves did take the time to discuss a number of Sony matters, including: the PS2 (which is only 70-80% through its life
cycle), the PSP (specifically, its "connectivity" function), and speculation about Sony's future online community of
gamers and non-gamers.

I think the first poster was referring to how Nintendo is very secretive.
Since the statement from Sony sayd they're going "underground", which I assume is some vague way of saying they're going to be secretive from now on. Which is pretty dumb when you consider that they've spilled all their guts. They're likely trying to make people believe there is more to be shown when there isn't. And before you all flame me, keep in mind that Sony *has* lied many times before, like about the power of the PS2. It would be foolish to take anything they say seriously until the system actually launches.
As for Nintendo, the truth is that although Sony as an electronics/music/movies/etc manufacturer and producer definitely has more net worth, this is a pretty silly comparison, if you were to instead compare the gaming divisions within Sony, as in their *complete* gaming assets. You'd discover that Nintendo is several orders of magnitude larger than the net worth of those divisions within Sony.
The Nintendo empire in total makes almost as much money as all of Sony combined (all the divisions). This is of course counting the handheld market and licensing for TV shows and everything else that Nintendo has. There's been some articles on this recently on the NintendoInsider website, check it out, it's an interesting read.
Sony loses way too much on hardware and marketing. Even though the PS2 launched a year before the GameCube, and the PS2's hardware is inferior, it's still more expensive to manufacture to this day. I shudder to think how the PS3's price will scale. An article on GameSpot cites a source that predicts the system costs $495 to manufacture, and predicts Sony will go with a $400 price point. That is a *huge* hit to take on a system. My personal prediction is $450 or so.
Anyways, I think we'll be seeing more deception from Sony, like with the PS2. It's their M.O. so I'm expecting it. But who knows, maybe they'll surprise us and actually be honest.
