An interesting rumor? Or a tantalizing fact? Who knows? The rumor doing the rounds though is that the PS3 demos at
E3 were on machines only running at 75% of their potential.
The story goes that the Cell chip in the development kits runs at 2.4ghz, whereas the final beast itself will run at
3.2ghz. Couple that with the fact that the GPU wasn't the one that the system will ship with, and that leads folk to
believe, as a famous person once said, that "you ain't seen nothin' yet."
Of course MS have claimed that the Xbox 360 demos were running at only 25% of the systems potential.
How long before Kutaragi and Gates just go ahead and whip it out and compare sizes?
