IBM announced today that it would be partnering with Mercury Computer Systems to build the first non-gaming computer to utilize Cell technology. Officially, the new project calls for "data-intensive applications," but Mercury has been known to develop systems for military reconnaissance and surveillance, including real-time radar and sonar data recovery.
