Resident Evil DS?!

You heard it! According to Brit mag NGC, Capcom is working
on a remake of the original Resident Evil game for the DS. Again, REDS will be a remake, not a port, as Capcom
will rework RE4's camera perspective into the game—and one can only assume, RE4's action-orientated gameplay (via
touchpad controls) as well. Besides this tiny detail, nothing else is known about the mysterious project…

Porting Resident Evil is fine. Just really makes no sense why they choose the DS to release this on.

Yeah, that may not be half bad. I think the original play stlye of RE fits better on a handheld than a FPS.
Anyone else remember those screenshots of RE when they were porting it to GBC? I always wished that would have finished that.

I wasn't a big fan of the RE series. I player RE2 and RE0 but just wasn't into it. Then RE4 came out and I nearly wet myself.
I never played RE1 and if they are going to do it in RE4 style and better yet on DS, sign me up.

Porting Resident Evil?
No, this is a completely original remake with all new gameplay.
If we get remakes of games (or ports even) this is what they should be like.

yeah i thought the resi 0, 1, 2 and 3 were weak but resi 4 smacked them all and cut their big toes off, simply because of the camera angle and the a button fing, so this resi 4 remake of resi 1 sounds fuckking heavy i will purchase it imediatly is there any news on wen its cummin out????

Remaking resident evil on the DS kicks A$$. They also need to remake Nemesis. 1 and Nemesis are the best besides resident evil 4. They also need to remake Final Fantasy V and need to make a new The Legend Of Zelda.

Ahhhh RE 1 on the DS when did this happen. Oh well as long as it does happen i'm not complaining.
Also i think the Resident Evil Series belongs to Nintendo now because it fits in nicely and RE 5 should definiatly come out for Revolution.

Sorry mate but Resident Evil 5 WILL NOT be getting made for Revolution, it is only for XB360 and PS3. Bit of a shame, but that's what Nintendo are gonna have to deal with for making a machine that appears as if it will be significantly underpowered in terms of what Capcom want to do with the series. They want to make it look as realistic as possible and since Nintendo don't want to use HD for Revolution, they are losing money already. I am a Nintendo Gamecube user, and this is another blow to a company that is leaving itself a little to open for criticism. The problem is, too many people will get the others simply because the games look more realistic. You can't get very realistic graphics on screen without going High Definition, because normal resolution is too low. Good to see they're going to remake Res 1 again, but a remake of Resident Evil 2 and 3 is what I wanna see more of, whether for NGC, PS2, or the next generation consoles.

This will be sweet I have been waiting for the resi series to come to ds especially to see how it will adapt to it's functions. I hope it will use the wi-fi for multiplayer co-op modes so I can kick zombie ass with friends. This is AWSOME!!!!!

RE fans dont get to excited.Keep in mind that the ds is a handheld system and graphics will suffer. Also the 2002 remake for the cube was beautiful and left the classic RE on a high note, why remake it on ds only to leave the RE fans disapointed. Capcom stop while your ahead!!! Yes it will have the RE feel to it but i really wish capcom would have remade re2 or re3 for the psp instead sorry nintendo.

i saw some screen shots for REDS it looks awesome but it still has ps1 graphics oh well, im still getting whether or not i also heard it comes out february 14 it will ROCK!!!

i went to nintendo.com and found some interesting stuff.the knife will always be equipped and using the stylus pen will slash the zombies with the knife,leaving an extra space in your inventory, the top screen will show your inventory and map.the bottom screen will show the main view.and using the styulus pen and moving it back and forth it will shove zombies off of you if they attack you.i also learned that if you blow into the microphone you can reload.also if you turn the stylus pen around you will do the 180 turn.
