Fable: The Lost Chapters coming to Xbox and Mac
Following the announcement in March '05 that Microsoft will be publishing a PC port of the innovative Xbox RPG,
Fable: The Lost Chapters, Lionhead has revealed publishers for an Xbox and Mac port of the game. The most significant
change over the original game is that it'll be around a third longer than the original. Many players found that the
original game was far too short with some gamers being able to complete the game in one sitting. Similar to the PC
version already in development, the Xbox and Mac version will feature expanded content (around a third more than the
original), greater customization, new quests, and enhanced graphics. Also, the Mac version will feature an improved
control system for keyboards and mice, natch.
[Thanks, Dustin]

Arch, what the hell is up with your dissing? What are you trying to say?

And to all the gamers who bought the original Fable, bend over and spread.
Seriously, this sounds like the equivalent of an expansion pack. Is that what it is? Or is it a stand-alone product? I loved Fable, all 15 or so hours of it (after doing just about everything you can do in the game). But it was just too short for the money paid.
They should consider giving a discount to people who already own the game.

It's funny because the 360 alpha kits were played on macs... hmm... And he obviously has no idea how great macs are when it comes to making programs and/or graphics. O well, I just feel bad for the people who bought the original fable.
Jim Daschle @ Dec 18th 2005 9:41PM
Well all right! Good to see somebody finally paying attention to the Mac.
Jason @ Dec 18th 2005 9:41PM
I loved Fable. Can't wait to get my hands on the Lost Chapters.

#5, yes, thats why their OS is unix and their hardware is switching to x86. the only thing different about macs is their boxes.
Justin @ Dec 18th 2005 9:41PM
Uhhmmmm, Fable still sucks. Biggest letdown ever. Peter M should just get it over with and jump in front of traffic. Better yet, hand this 'game' out for free - even though it's a third longer, it's still going to be nowhere near what Lionhead promised. I mean WHAT GAME in this day and age uses RAILS??!
zach @ Dec 18th 2005 9:41PM
omgz a game coming to mac? macs r teh suxorz! LOLLERSKATES. nice to see the internet will never disappoint when it comes to morons.
salvatore @ Dec 18th 2005 9:41PM
What I wish they'd do is offer a downloadable expansion via Live... should be possible, right? Since that isn't happening, the port at least better be cheap - no more than 30 bucks CAN, like the Morrowind GOTY edition.

Arch-360 you are just hopeless man! You are dissing Macs when your precious Xbox 360's are G5's. In case you dont know, since you seem to have no intelligence of your own....G5's are Mac.
The joke is on you dude.

Maybe it's just me, but I thought I'd try reading the actual news release. Here's your answer, salvatore:
"Fable: The Lost Chapters is being developed by world-renowned Lionhead Studios and will be offered as a Platinum Hits title for Xbox at a suggested retail price of $19.99."
As for myself, I was loathe to buy a second game, although I absolutely love the original Fable if for nothing but the maturing sense of morality and self that will hopefully become more common in years to come. At $20, it's as cheap as any PC expansion pack, so I'm not complaining.
Now, as for the tendency to "expand" rather than include in the first place, it's obvious there's some corners being cut for the sake of cost and time. It'd be nice if expansions didn't need to exist, but I'd rather get it late than never.
empt @ Dec 18th 2005 9:41PM
As far as "corners being cut or the sake of cost and time", Fable is the king of all time (unless you want to count Duke Nukem Forever, cause I guess none of the corners survived the cutting process on that one)
but I've never been as disappointed in a game, as I was in Fable.....It was an RPG aimed at 8 year olds.......
Petey M still has my respect, but damn that was a bad game.....
Jason Anderson @ Dec 18th 2005 9:41PM
Platinum Hits? God, it's gonna have that horrible looking white and silver box.
Graeme @ Dec 18th 2005 9:41PM
People finished Fable in one sitting? You guys need to get out more often.
I was happy with the length of the game; in fact, I wish more games were about that length. I no longer have the kind of time to spend gaming that I did when I was a student, and I'd rather play something that was short and offers some sort of fresh experience than something that requires 40+ hours to grind through.
I suppose that's the problem with growing up, though: more money but less time to do anything with it.

Hey Justin.
What are you doing even reading this article never mind commenting on it. If i see an article about a game i didn't like i just skip it. You spotted this article about a game you hate and just had to tell the world about it. Do you even know why you didn't like the game or did someone just tell you not to like it. Fable is an awsome game. I can't wait for more.
hi @ Dec 18th 2005 9:41PM
