Free bonus Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory map
The team over at Ubisoft are giving away a
bonus map for Xbox and PC versions of Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, free of charge. I can only assume that the reason
it's free is so they can all get that warm fuzzy feeling after helping people out without demanding cash (obviously it
has nothing to do with attracting more people to get out there and buy the game). The new map is playable in the
'versus' multiplayer gametype (where you try and break your buddy's neck) and is set in Brooklyn, New York. Ubisoft is
also planning two new Co-op maps called Nuclear Plant based in Yongbyon, North Korea and UN Headquarters which is set
in New York. All this talk of free maps puts the latest Halo
maptacular pack into perspective. Sigh.

I feel most games are rushed out of the gates, usually with missing or imcomplete gameplay/graphics/maps. A simple thing like this really says alot about a company, in my books.
I applaud companies like UbiSoft and Pandemic that give back to the fans/customers. Now if only I didn't own a PS2, and could actually get the new maps, this would be even better news.
Oh, Sony... btw, this is another good reason to include a HDD with the PS3 (even if it is only a 8G drive).

Ubisoft have given out so much extra free content for their games, it's unreal. The map packs for Ghost Recon 2 in particular were absolutely superb.

What i don't get is why do Bungie make the maps free after like a month of them being out? It just makes me feel cheated, they know we arent going to wait.
I hope that more Downloadable Content will be free. By the sounds of it content for the 360 wont, Hence "Market-place" where you "Buy" stuff.

I have 33 Content Items stored on my Xbox (2 assault packs for Rsix 3 BA have more tones of maps, 2 map pack for SC2, 9 maps spread over 3 content packs for Halo 2) Thats quite a lot of Content (Still 50000+ blocks remaining). I hope they use the Downloadable Content more for single players games in the future like they did with the original Splinter Cell, I think it really adds a lot to a game.

#3 becuse they are smart. they know people will not be able to wait even though they have been given a choice.

SC:CT is an amazing game and hopefully with this release and more to come (yes more this summer) people will pick up this game or put it back in, noticed a lot of my friends going back to Halo 2.

A great addition to one kickass game.
Ubisoft is at the head of the class if you ask me.
