No measly demo this time. Rumor has it, once Metroid Prime: Hunters finally hits the market Nintendo will be
including the little badboy with new DS units for no added cost. Although this has yet to be confirmed, the current
Mario bundle is proof that Nintendo isn't
afraid to give something away. If all goes well, the Metroid bundle should land in stores just in time for the
holidays.

They should give this game away for free- by all indications, press and seeing it first hand, this is going to be an absolutely horrible game.

DS, free bundled Hunters how could you resist. It's a great system with some great games out/coming, well worth the price of admission IMHO.

Well, that makes a lot of sense from a market perspective. Still, even a full version of Hunters isn't enough for me to purchase a DS, as the demo did absolutely nothing for me. My next portable will be a PSP.

That's a good choice to showcase the DS abilities. I'll probably go for it when it comes out, perhapse new colors then too?

I have both. I prefer the DS.
The PSP's glamour and sleekness wear off quickly leaving a sour taste.
DS grows better every day.

ROFL. First off, the article is ABOUT giving the game away for free, with the purchase of a DS. Secondly, and this i lol'd at, where are the press saying that it will be horrible?

actually I love my DS. In my opinion this is the best platform since way back to the days of the
Amiga and it is getting better with each wave of new releases (which includes at least one great game). Unfort the PSP so far is not that interesting software wise and I dont see that changing much...
I would defit recommend the DS to anyone looking for a great portable experience and this new bundle is another reason to buy one!

DS is already a pretty good little (eh, kind of big) portable. Meteos, Mario and Kirby are all very good. THe promise of that dog game, Mario Kart, Castlevania and Online Animal Crossing make me glad I bought one. Thats some A-Class softwar e and they have got some variety (not all racing and sports like most of psp's stuff)

I just got my DS today. I had the choice between DS and PSP and I chose the obviously better product. The PSP just seems like a washed up version of the PS2 to me, and the DS is truly on its own. If only that music / video attatchment would come to America. But I am really looking forward to Metroid Prime Hunters. Electric Blue > Regular!

I don't know if I'll ever understand why people like the DS so much more than the PSP. It's only marginally better than the SP, while the PSP is much better than the DS. For my purposes the touchscreen on the DS is worthless -- I play the PSP or SP while riding an exercise bike or stairclimber. Maybe I'm just more interested in the PSP because I've only owned Nintendo consoles and haven't had much exposure to PS games. It basically comes down to the fact that the DS is not much better than the SP and therefore I'd rather have a PSP as my second portable.

EGM was pretty harsh on MP:H, but they're a pretty crappy magazine.

To Dmitri, if getting the music/video attachment for the DS is so important, why not get a PSP which can do MP3 and Mpeg4 playback out of the box?

Both systems are good. I own both. PSP needs more games but it is brand new. games will come out ofr it quickly. I really do use the video player alot. Its fun to bring movies w/ me. I have gone through alot of DS games and they were all fun. I am still waiting for the real games like castlevania and MPH. They will both be good. PSP will have alot of really really good games also.

You can get a DS with the player and a 1/2 GB SD card for about $250, and from there you've got cheaper memory and better battery.
Wel that's the conclusion I drew, PSP's yet to win me over.

The fact that news of Hunters brings in more negative comments from PSP fans is proof enough this game rocks. I have nothing against PSP, but it can't play games like Hunters, so I have no interest in Sony's handheld. The touch screen is the best FPS controller for thumbs, and the gameplay in Hunters rivals games like Halo. I can hardly wait for this game.

I bought a PSP at launch with Lumines.
Biggest mistake ever. I like my Psp a lot, but I honestly hate the selection of games. I see all the awesome software for DS and I can't stop thinking about selling my 1.5 firmware. The only thing I really use it for is Emulation of old games I've already beat. So its pointless to even continue. Screw GTA it isn't the "Killer app" they need, Infected will be fun but beyond there is nothing exciting on PSP's line up.
