With this much hype around this controller, can anything not be a dissapointment now?

I really like this one

except replace the DVD controls on the right with real buttons

then the game developers could choose or let the player choose between a classic setup and the gyroscopes. you'd have four buttons when using the gyro setup, so that's pretty simple

I think they should stick with this. The haptics technology or whatever doesn't necessarily be a bad thing. I recall there's an MP3 player where the screen has these 'invisible' buttons that would light up according to which menu tree they are in. They're basically squarish plastic bits with lights shining underneath, much like on this one, and they can be depressed according to the menu they are representing. And that's how Nintendo is expecting us to control the entire library of hardware with just one controller. I'm just saying, the thing doesn't have to be real smooth ya know, the plastic bits would at least provide some tactile feedback. Hell, they could even make the underneath of these button placements have pneumatic things that would protrude the required buttons or something to that effect.

Man, those 'dashboard' concepts are gorgeous. I really like them. A couple of those controllers are pretty sweet too.

Yes, I saw the interfaces on the Nsider forums first and I knew they looked awsome.

As 4colorrebellion said, it would go good with the clean look of the system.

strider_mt2k, you're completely right. These mock-ups are only hurting the Revolution.

I love how the dashboard concepts are higher res than the Revolution will actually display.

This is just a cartoon version of the control image that was from an 'article'.

why dont people realize this. Nobody ever said the revolution controller will play gamecube games. Thats why an entire side of the revolution is devoted to gamecube controller ports and memory cards.

And still people are talking about the revolution... Don't get me wrong but I think Nintendo did something right at E3.

i don't think, at this point, that Nintendo can possibly produce any controller that won't dissapoint me.

the hype is too much. it's overdone. by thew time they release it, it will be missing so many features that people made up and planted in the back of mind that i won't even care.

at this point i won't be impressed unless the controller can literally warp you into the revolution and into the game. and we all know that's not gonna happen any time soon.

Jake, I believe Nintendo has stated that the controller will be able to play all past Nintendo games. That they wanted something that people would use for the back catalogue.

That being said...

NO WAY THIS IS REAL!! LOOK AT IT, IT LOOKS LIKE A CARTOON! C'MON PEOPLE, WE ALL KNOW THAT THE REVOLUTION IS CONTROLLED PURELY THROUGH TELEKENESIS!

the gamecube ports in the side are for oldschool and possiblely hardcore ports that wouldnt work with the new controller. It could be way out there, and rev ports could just map buttons to the old NGC controller. That way they can be revolutionary and still support Random FPS 234621 not to mention Generic Pro Sports Game 39725
