Just in time for today's film release, Take-Two Interactive has
announced the arrival of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory in stores. While Tim Burton's
colorful adaptation of the book may prove more kid-friendly than disturbing, the box art for the new game (shown right)
is enough to give me nightmares. The Oompa Loompa staring in the bottom right corner kind
of reminds me of Chucky from Child's Play - it's the stare he gives, really - and Charlie looks less like Freddie
Highmore (the actor in the movie) than he does the Alfred E Neuman of Mad Magazine fame (what, me
worry?). Likely another bad movie-to-game conversion, but with all the good ones lately
(Chronicles of Riddick, Lord of the Rings, Spiderman 2), there's always a chance I could be wrong.
Available now for PC, XBox, PS2, and Gameboy Advance. The GameCube version will arrive next week, just to be
special.
