For all the critical rave and acclaim, I never found the first Dungeon Siege to be game of the year material.
The class system was okay, the story was lackluster at best, but the engine itself (lack of load times, most notably)
was technologically impressive. So the sequel has been in development for quite some time, and now, as GameSpot
reports, Dungeon Siege II has gone gold and will ship in mid-August. It promises a new storyline and some more
impressive visuals.
So it has my attention. And for what it was, the original was very fun, and it really is unfair of me to criticize it,
but on a tangent: how are they making a movie out of the Dungeon Siege story? What story is there to tell?
At least the writers won't have to worry about too much if they stay true to the game's plot.
