Yeah, as far as I remember Blizzard haven't made a bad game in a long time. I don't hold out too much hope for Starcraft Ghost, though.

Uhh. The name of this should be changed. It is NOT the #1 MMORPG in the world. Many people have different thoughts. I personally, own it and think it sucks balls. But thats my opinion. Now, the name should be changed to "WoW #1 selling MMORPG in the World". Because not everyone who buys a game, always plays it.

Exact same here Miles. It gets sooo freaking boring. Especially at level 60. You play the game to get level 60 and master the PvP. But thats all you do at level 60, is basically PvP. Its pathetic. Unlike EQ2 and Guild Wars.

Honestly I couldn't get into this game. It's uninstalled and sitting on my bookshelf collecting dust. Oddly I find Warcraft II more enjoyable. Just my two cents.

WoW is the biggest, best MMO to hit the gaming market ever. It's immense.

One year after launch, EQ had under 250k subscribers. WoW's hit 3.5 million inside of 10 months after launch. It's an impressive feat.

Check this graph out for comparison: http://www.mmogchart.com/Chart1_files/Subscriptions_8846_image001.gif

The comments above notwithstanding, the game has found more admirers than any other MMORPG to date.

I don't think the 2 million Americans that enjoy this game are dumb. To each his/her own.

keep in mind that http://www.mmogchart.com isn't officially supported by companies. as long as they do well some keep giving out data but not all do, the person maintaining it isn't of perfect status if you see comments about him.

and it's not 2 mil americans, the 2 mil includes at least europe, australia and south korea.

It's always great to see the people who "obviously know better" throw in their two cents and try to make the people who enjoy the game feel stupid for their decision.

Whatever. I have fun playing it. You can't deny its success. Well, I suppose you could, but it'd be kind of dumb in light of all the facts.

- Yeah, and if EQ didn't launch, WoW wouldn't have those 3.5 million players. EQ launched the MMO craze(yes, I realize UO existed, but it didn't have nearly the mass appeal of EQ).

I also doubt their 3.5 million active suscribers. EQ at it's peak had 500k active suscribers, but with over 2 million copies sold. I think WoW has had 3.5 million copies sold. Also, even if they have 3.5 mil suscribers, how many are on their free month? The math just seems off to me.

Can you read? It said "with 3.5 million PAYING customers players".

I'm sure the game sold more than 3.5 mil copies.
