More news from fun and fancy free Famitsu magazine. This time it is via an interview with RE5 producer Jun
Takeuchi, who extols on the technical goals he hopes to accomplish with this new game. From the modeling of each
blade of the protagonist's scruff to a more realistic physics engine, expect a "strong action component" with the game
running at a smooth 60 frames per second. What's more, Takeuchi wants the engine to emphasize changes in
temperature in order to add to the atmosphere of the game - a focus, he says, that is impossible without
High-Definition television.
The last part was key, as Nintendo has stated that it does not plan to add High-Definition to
the Revolution. This may be why Capcom is not putting RE5 on the Big N's next console - at least, not
right away. Then again,
it could be a mistranslation, and Takeuchi could be referring to High Dynamic Range lighting (see below - thanks,
anoon). Stay tuned for more.
